Job Description

We are looking for a Lead Data Engineer to design and deliver scalable, AI-ready data platforms that power advanced analytics, forecasting, and customer intelligence use cases. This role is critical in enabling high-quality, model-ready datasets for both BI and Generative AI-driven applications.

As a technical leader, you will drive architecture, mentor team members, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to build robust, scalable, and future-ready data solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using Python and SQL within modern lakehouse architectures.
• Architect and implement data platforms using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Airflow, or dbt.
• Build and optimize data pipelines and models to support forecasting, customer retention, and churn prediction use cases.
• Enable AI and Generative AI use cases by preparing high-quality, feature-rich datasets for machine learning and LLM workflows.
• Integrate and harmonize data from multiple enterprise systems (ERP, CRM, and external sources), ensuring consistency and reliability.
• Establish and enforce data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure trust in data pipelines.
• Design dimensional and semantic data models that support BI tools and enable intuitive data exploration.
• Collaborate with Data Scientists, AI Engineers, and business stakeholders to deliver data-driven and AI-powered solutions.
• Drive best practices in data architecture, scalability, performance optimization, and governance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building internal data engineering capabilities and standards.
• Support production deployment, CI/CD pipelines, and ongoing platform optimization.

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles, with increasing ownership and leadership responsibilities.
• Strong hands-on expertise in SQL and Python for data processing and pipeline development.
• Proven experience building cloud-based data platforms (Azure preferred; multi-cloud is a plus).
• Experience with lakehouse architectures (e.g., Azure Data Lake, Parquet, Synapse, or similar).
• Hands-on experience with tools such as Azure Data Factory, Synapse, Fabric, Airflow, or dbt.
• Experience designing data solutions for forecasting, customer analytics, or churn modeling.
• Strong experience integrating data from multiple enterprise systems (ERP, CRM), including standardization and entity resolution.
• Solid understanding of data quality frameworks, validation, and monitoring practices.
• Experience designing data models for BI tools (e.g., Power BI or similar platforms).

AI & Advanced Data (Preferred but Valuable)

• Exposure to AI/ML or Generative AI workflows, including feature engineering or data preparation for models.
• Understanding of data requirements for LLMs or advanced analytics systems.

Soft Skills

• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work in a globally distributed, fast-paced environment.
• Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in multi-cloud environments (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Familiarity with MLOps or data pipeline orchestration for AI systems.
• Experience in client-facing or consulting roles.
• Knowledge of data governance and enterprise data standards.
